Angry Rob McElhenney 'asking questions' of EFL after Salford clash as Wrexham fan makes 'get them in gear' plea

Wrexham edged out Salford City 2-1 courtesy of a strike from Paul Mullin and Josh Austerfield's late own goal to begin their EFL Trophy journey with a win. The fans who attended the game at the Racecourse Ground left the stadium satisfied - however, the ones who followed the game live on iFollow were left fuming with the coverage quality of the match.

A Red Dragons fan took to X to express her discontent with the coverage quality as she shared a video of the poor stream of the match and wrote: "Does this look like it’s worth $230 to you?"

In response, McElhenney wrote: "No it does not. Not sure why it’s worse than the last two years. I’m asking all the same questions."

The user appreciated the Hollywood star's prompt response and hoped his involvement might spark change, writing: "I figured as much! Hoping that McElhenney persistence might get them in gear. Appreciate you."

The clash against Salford marked the return of Red Dragons talisman Paul Mullin, who featured in Phil Parksinson's starting line-up for the first time in the 2024-25 campaign. Mullin underwent back surgery in the summer and had been used only as a substitute until Tuesday's game. The Welsh forward announced his arrival with a bang as he broke the deadlock for his side.

Parkinson's side will be back in action on Monday when they take on Tom Brady-owned Birmingham City in a League One clash at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park.
