Time to celebrate! Rob McElhenney gets excited as Wrexham go top of League One with win over Shrewsbury

The Red Dragons kept up their unbeaten start to the League One campaign by overpowering a Shrewsbury side currently in the relegation zone. Co-owner McElhenney was delighted by the news as he checked to see their success.

Posting on X, McElhenney shared a screenshot of the Leauge One table as well as one showing his favourite NFL team, Philadelphia Eagles, top of their conference after winning their first game of the year.

He wrote: "Long way to go but never too early to celebrate the highs. Up the Town. Go Birds."

Wrexham are chasing an incredible third consecutive promotion amid the owners' aim to guide them to the Premier League. They are three points clear at the top of the table, though nearest challengers Stockport have a game in hand.

Phil Parkinson's team turn their attention to the EFL Trophy as they take on League Two team Salford on Tuesday. Six days later, they face Birmingham in League One.
