According to Football Italia, City have no intention of forking out the €50 million (£43.2m/$58.3m) they were initially quoted by PSG to sign Donnarumma. Pep Guardiola is thought to be keen on the Italy goalkeeper, who played a key role in Les Parisiens' Champions League triumph last season, even though his side have already brought in James Trafford from Burnley.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
While City aren't prepared to spend so much on a player whose contract expires in under a year, they could be persuaded to up their bid if they can secure a fee for long-time shot-stopper Ederson, who wasn't named in the matchday squad for the 4-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday. However, they are struggling to get a satisfactory offer out of reported suitors Galatasaray.
Having been brutally replaced by Lucas Chevalier at PSG, Donnarumma remains determined to seal an exit from Parc des Princes this summer. With only a couple of weeks left in the summer transfer window, it remains to be seen which club will offer him an escape route.
