WHAT HAPPENED?

The Athletic state that Van Persie shared a "long conversation" with Hojlund during a break from training, and may well have passed on some wisdom that helped the Dane keep up his recent streak with a neat finish against Aston Villa on Sunday.

While the 21-year-old initially struggled to find form in the league, he did score consistently in the Champions League. Despite the Red Devils crashing out of the group stage, Hojlund managed to score five times in six matches.
