'You all owe him an apology' - Borussia Dortmund fire shots at Man Utd after Jadon Sancho's glorious display in Champions League win against PSG

The England international returned to Germany in the winter transfer window after being frozen out at Old Trafford. United boss Erik ten Hag took to publicly questioning Sancho’s efforts in training, which led to him being removed from the first-team squad and forced to train in the academy ranks.

Sancho has started to look more like his old self after reacquainting himself with Dortmund. The 24-year-old has rediscovered a lost spark, with his new confidence allowing him to run rings around opposition defences once more.

That was certainly the case in the first leg of Dortmund’s heavyweight Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain, as the German side ran out 1-0 winners. BVB delighted in seeing their English forward sparkle, posting on social media afterwards in what could be considered a nod towards a supposedly unsupportive parent club: “You all owe him an apology, we were ALWAYS familiar with his game.”

It remains to be seen what the short and long-term future holds for Sancho. Dortmund would like to keep him beyond the end of an initial loan agreement, but may struggle to find the funds required to put a permanent transfer in place. It may be that a slate is wiped clean back in Manchester, with there plenty of speculation to suggest that Ten Hag will be relieved of his managerial duties with United this summer.
