Kane has plenty of those to his name, as the all-time leading scorer for Tottenham and England. Remarkable individual standards have been maintained since leaving north London and taking on a new challenge at Bayern Munich.

Son, who made history alongside Kane when it comes to goal combinations in the Premier League, continues to keep track of how his former team-mate is getting on in Germany. He considers Kane to set the standard when it comes to No.9s in the global game.

South Korean star Son, who is now club captain at Spurs, told Sky Sports: "For me, he’s the best striker because it’s not just about scoring goals, which is, of course, very important. But it’s also how he brings others into play, how he gets involved in the game, and makes wingers better."

Son hopes that he has not seen the last of Kane, with there a desire on his part to grace the same field again at some point in the future. He added: "We still talk. Obviously, I miss him. I think he’s a fantastic player - he makes wingers look better. I hope that one day, even if it’s just in a charity match, we can play together again."

There has been talk of Kane returning to English football, with Tottenham boasting the option to match any bids that are tabled for the 31-year-old frontman, but he is expected to spend at least one more season chasing down trophies with Bayern - with it possible that his much-publicised silverware duck will be broken in 2025.
