    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane severed ties with Spurs in the summer of 2023, with farewells bid in north London as the club’s 280-goal all-time leading scorer. He headed to Bayern Munich hoping that a career-long wait for major silverware would be brought to a close in Germany.

  • WHAT MICHEL VORM SAID

Kane is still waiting on an elusive first trophy, but Dutch goalkeeper Vorm – speaking in association with 888sport – has told GOAL when asked if multiple honours will eventually be secured at the Allianz Arena: “Yeah. I understand as a fan, if you look at someone’s career and the trophies at the end, Harry is behind. But for me as someone who loves football, I can appreciate so much what he has done – where he has come from and where he is at now.

“For me, it doesn’t make him a better football player or a better striker if he wants 10 trophies or 20 trophies. But for his own recognition, and as a team player, he deserves it so much. I really hope that he wins loads of prizes but for me even if he wins zero, he’s still one of the best that the Premier League has ever seen.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Pressed on whether Kane may be tempted to retrace steps to Tottenham once his trophy duck has been broken, Vorm said: “No. I think he already stayed longer than people expected. He is a winner. Now he works in an environment where there is only one way – winning trophies. This is something, I know him, and he wants the best of the best.

“As long as he is able to take care of his body, stay injury free, looking after himself, then he wants to compete until the end of his career. I don’t really see him coming back. You never know, but for him now it is about winning as many trophies as he can.”

  • DID YOU KNOW?

With Kane’s passion continuing to burn bright at 31 years of age, Vorm said on the future appeal of taking inspiration from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by moving to either MLS or the Saudi Pro League: “Saudi I don’t really see him going there, but MLS for sure. In the off-season I have seen him doing interviews in the States and travelling there. He’s the type of guy who loves a challenge. To be honest, I see them more towards an MLS-type league than the Saudi league.”

  • TELL ME MORE

Quizzed on whether moving to America could see Kane explore the option of stepping into American football as a place kicker, Vorm added: “I see him trying to do something in the NFL scene. He’s very confident and he knows what he wants. It wouldn’t surprise me.”

  • WHAT NEXT FOR HARRY KANE?

For now, Kane is tied to a contract at Bayern through to the summer of 2027. He has helped them to the top of the Bundesliga table in 2024-25, while reaching the Champions League last-16 play-offs, and is also the greatest marksman that England’s men’s national team has ever seen – with the target being found on 69 occasions for the Three Lions.
