    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 27 goals he has scored this term take his all-time tally in the English top-flight to 182, putting him just 78 short of the record holder Alan Shearer. To surpass that record, Salah may have to sign on for another year on Merseyside as calculations from Grosvenor Sport say the Egypt star is on track to reach 260 strikes by the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

  • WILL HAALAND SURPASS SALAH & SHEARER?

Even if the 32-year-old overtakes ex-England and Newcastle striker Shearer, he is expected to eventually see the record taken from him by Manchester City's Erling Haaland. The Norway international penned a new deal that keeps him tied to the club until 2034. By then, though, he will already be the record holder, with the study saying he is projected to end the 2030-31 season with 278 goals.
