<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/player/mason-greenwood/6kicom9a3lzp49urle78bevl6" target="_self">Greenwood</a> scored twice in Getafe's 3-1 La Liga win over Almeria. But the forward had been the subject of abusive chanting from Real Sociedad fans a week earlier focusing on the charges that were brought against him following his arrest in 2022. That has led Bordalas to jump to his player's defence.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>It wasn't the first time that fans have targeted Greenwood this season, with Osasuna supporters making their feelings clear and chanting death threats during home and away clashes. Jude Bellingham was also <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jude-bellingham-mason-greenwood-real-madrid-getafe-complaint-la-liga/bltf4472416fe430069" target="_self">alleged to have made a remark</a> towards the forward, prompting an investigation from the RFEF.</p>

<p>"He is calm, he is happy, he is treated very well," Bordalas told <em>Marca</em>. "The boy has had exemplary behaviour. His team-mates help him. I am sure [chanting] affects him. You know my opinion, I am against any insult, whoever the player is, whether it's a hundred or one, I can't say anything else."</p>

WHAT BORDALAS SAID

<p>Greenwood's future beyond this season remains unknown.
