    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Greenwood has finished the season on a high but there have been some difficulties along the way. He came in for criticism from manager Roberto De Zerbi, and was even dropped from the team, earlier this year but ends the campaign with 21 goals from 32 league appearances. The 23-year-old took to social media after Marseille's final game of the campaign to express his feelings about his first season at the club and to thank supporters for their backing.

  • WHAT GREENWOOD SAID

He posted on Instagram: "From day one, this club welcomed me like family. Ending the season in 2nd and qualifying for the Champions League is something we can all be proud of. Being joint top scorer in Ligue 1 is a proud moment for me personally, but the real highlight was playing in front of our incredible fans week in, week out. Your support means the world."

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Greenwood's latest goals also mean he has scored more in a debut season in the 21st century for Marseille than any other player, beating the record previously held by Didier Drogba.
