Brazil legend Marta announces engagement to Carrie Lawrence after idyllic picnic proposal from Orlando Pride team-mate

Marta and Lawrence, who have been dating since 2022, announced their engagement on Instagram with a series of photographs. The couple were on a picnic when the Brazilian proposed to her partner and they went on to celebrate the joyous occasion.

Lawrence shared the photographs from the celebration of their love on Instagram with the caption: "My forever."

Thirty-eight-year-old Marta has been part of NWSL side Orlando Pride since 2017, while 27-year-old Lawrence joined the team three years later. The Brazil icon was earlier engaged to another Orlando Pride player Toni Pressley, however, the couple later broke up. Lawrence recently visited France to cheer for Marta and the Selecao as they competed in the Paris Olympics and bagged a silver medal.

Marta is yet to join the Orlando Pride squad as she is enjoying a break after taking part in the Olympic Games. The club will be next seen in action on Saturday as they take on Houston Dash in a NWSL clash.
