  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Rashford's form took a nosedive last season and that prompted transfer links with Paris Saint-Germain. However, the 26-year-old has reportedly not been keen on an Old Trafford exit and now he has said as much after targeting Premier League and Champions League triumphs with the Red Devils.

    WHAT MARCUS RASHFORD SAID

He told United's website: “I think as you get older, your dreams change as well. So, you know, in the beginning it was just about playing for Man United. And when you get there, it's about winning. So I still have, you know, dreams of winning the big trophies, the Premier League and Champions League with Man United. So, you know, hopefully we can get that done.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Last season, Rashford was a shadow of the player that scored 30 goals and bagged 10 assists in 2022-23. The forward scored just eight goals in all competitions for United, and that form led to him not being picked for England's Euro 2024 squad. However, the 26-year-old seems determined to turn things around this season.

    WHAT NEXT?

Rashford could feature for United in a pre-season clash against Real Betis on Wednesday, before rounding off their United States tour against Liverpool on Saturday. The club's academy product, who has four years left on his current deal, may then line up against Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10.
