Marcus Rashford 'confident' Barcelona will find money to overcome registration issue as Man Utd loanee jokes he wants to score 100 goals this season

England international Rashford has completed a move to Catalunya on an initial loan agreement from Premier League giants Manchester United. He is delighted to find himself alongside the likes of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

The 27-year-old has been finding his feet in pre-season, with the promise of more to come as he rediscovers a lost spark. Barca do, however, still need to register him with La Liga before the 2025-26 campaign gets underway.

That has been an issue for the Blaugrana of late, amid much-publicised financial struggles, with the likes of Dani Olmo seeing questions asked of how long they would be cleared to play for. Rashford believes any issues will be ironed out quickly.

He told Mundo Deportivo during a summer tour of Asia: "I think it's something the club needs to resolve, and I'm confident it will happen. I'm focused on training and being ready for the start of the season."

Quizzed on how many goals he is looking to score in his debut campaign with Barca, Rashford said: "100! As many as I can. I know it will be different for me to play in another country and in a different style of football, but I accept the challenge. I will try to score as many goals as possible."

Rashford has said that he can "play in different positions" and "score goals from all areas of the pitch", with it yet to be determined where a man with the 2026 World Cup in his thoughts will figure in Hansi Flick’s favoured starting XI.
