Ruben Amorim will have no excuses as he looks to resurrect the fortunes of Manchester United in 2025-26 after enjoying a full pre-season at the club.

The former Sporting head coach replaced Erik ten Hag mid-way through the 2024-25 campaign and had a tumultuous tenure in his first season, with the Red Devils finishing the season in the bottom half of the Premier League table and losing the Europa League final against Tottenham.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about Manchester United's pre-season plans ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Manchester United lined up friendly games across three continents as they prepare for the 2025-26 campaign.

The Red Devils kicked off their Asia pre-season tour with back-to-back losses against ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur (0-1) and Hong Kong in China (1-3). After that, Ruben Amorim's side headed to Sweden, where they played out a goalless draw against Leeds United in a friendly match on July 19.

United then jetted off to the States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series. They started with a hard-fought 2-1 win against West Ham in New Jersey (July 26). There were four different scores and an own-goal as they beat Bournemouth 4-1 in Illinois (July 30).  They clinched the Premier League Summer Series after a 2-2 draw with Everton in Georgia (August 3).

They wrapped up their pre-season by hosting Fiorentina on August 9, with the game finishing 1-1.
