Garnacho’s playing time is likely to shrink at Manchester United if he stays put, following the Red Devils’ summer signing spree. United have already brought in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, with a deal for Benjamin Sesko also nearly finalised. The arrival of new attacking talent puts Garnacho’s long-term prospects at the club in serious doubt.

The Argentine is waiting for Chelsea to approach United over a permanent transfer or a loan deal, with terms similar to those that were agreed in the Jadon Sancho deal last summer. With Sesko’s transfer nearly done, United are expected to accelerate outgoing deals, and Garnacho's switch to Stamford Bridge could be finalised in the coming weeks.
