Man Utd unleash new plan to oust 'lazy runners' and prevent injuries as part of Ruben Amorim's shakeup

According to the Daily Telegraph, Amorim is upping the standards this term as United look to avoid another dismal campaign in the Premier League, and he has already vowed to expose his players if they are not training hard enough. Now, to support his analysis, the Red Devils have given him access to new and enhanced technology which provides the most detailed and up-to-date tracking information yet with "real-time kinematics" giving five million data points of 100 per cent accurate live data over a 90-minute period.

Essentially, the STATSports’ Apex 2.0 GPS performance tracker vests will paint Amorim a crystal clear picture of who is running hard and who is not whenever they are in use, which will likely be across training sessions and matches. The club have set up beacons across the entire Carrington training ground which means the head coach and his staff can monitor and access data in real-time on iPads.

Amorim is also looking for a way to prevent injuries ahead of the new campaign, with United having one of the highest absence rates over the last two years. The new technology will also identify when players are at high risk of picking up an issue, allowing the coaching staff to adjust their workload accordingly.

United's fancy new tech will continue to be put to use as the Red Devils gear up for the new campaign. They face Fiorentina on Saturday, before preparing to host Arsenal on the opening weekend.
