'We get the message' - Man City boss Pep Guardiola explains why he expects Arsenal to be his side's closest challengers for years to come

City look set to win the Premier League for a record fourth-straight time this weekend but if they drop points against West Ham and Arsenal beat Everton, the title will head to the Gunners for the first time since 2004. Ahead of this showdown, Guardiola expects the north London outfit to be title challengers for years to come.

He told Sky Sports: "For the future? Arsenal are giving the message... and we take it. I have a few certain things in my life. I wake up in the morning and I am going to sleep in the night. The other certain[ty], with the age they [Arsenal] have, the manager they have, the way they've played the last two seasons - they will stay here for a long, long time. That's why we get the message."

City have dominated the Premier League in recent times, with only Liverpool giving them a run for their money and breaking up their supremacy in 2020. However, Arsenal came second last season and have taken it to the last day this term. City are there to be shot at and for so long they have withstood the competition, but the Gunners will try their utmost to topple them from their perch on Sunday and in the future.

City host West Ham in David Moyes' last game in charge as Hammers boss on Sunday afternoon, whereas Everton visit the Emirates on the same day. A win will secure Guardiola's men yet more silverware this weekend.
