  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Salah's future at Liverpool has been put under a major question mark as the Egyptian's contract is set to run out in the summer of 2025. The Liverpool star announced to the media last week that Liverpool simply hadn't made a contract offer to him so far, and this was met with criticism from Carragher, who claimed that the public announcement was not the right way to go about the contract ordeal and called him "selfish".

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Salah proved exactly why he has been Liverpool's best player over the last few years as he provided an assist and scored a goal against defending Premier League champions, Manchester City, to all but throw them out of the title race. After the game, Salah was awarded the Man of the Match award by teammate Virgil van Dijk, who joked that he was surprised that 'Carra' didn't give it to him, to which Salah responded: "He wouldn't give it to me!"

However, the former Liverpool centre-back had a joke of his own to fire back at the duo on X.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SALAH?

The Egyptian has continued to claim that he is very likely on his way out of Liverpool. However, his future continues to remain shrouded - he discussed it again after the City win - and it likely will remain so until the Reds actually make an extension offer to Salah.
