  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Bees striker scored a free-kick in his first game back in eight months following a suspension, but the goal was not without controversy. The forward moved the ball and referee's spray forward so that he could take the free-kick from a closer position and ended up smashing it into the net.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 27-year-old's actions were spotted by the television cameras and sparked anger on social media. After being banned for breaching betting regulations, he wowed fans by scoring the equalising free-kick, but many branded him a cheater after realising he had moved the ball forward.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Despite his lengthy ban, the one-time England international has been linked with a January move to Arsenal as the north London side look to strengthen in attack. However, Brentford are said to be demanding around £80 million ($102m) for him and coach Thomas Frank is confident he will stay for the rest of the season at least.

Toney will hope to make up for lost time by building on his fine return to action with the Premier League side. However, he may have the likes of Arsenal and other sides trying to tempt him away from the Bees before the end of the month.
