Greenwood, Sancho & Tomori: England's starting line-up for Euro 2024 was predicted five years ago as Three Lions bid to end 58-year trophy drought in Euro 2024 final

talkSPORT posted an article in 2019 that predicted what England's Euro 2024 squad may look like. Forgotten faces such as Greenwood, Sancho and Tomori all featured while other missing stars like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Raheem Sterling all had a place in the starting XI.

The team was not a complete mess, however. Phil Foden was a notable inclusion, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and John Stones also had a place. There was no room for Harry Kane, which was an interesting call considering he was at the peak of his powers five years ago.

Every player included in talkSPORT's predicted XI graphic has earned at least one cap for England. Some players have not lived up to the hype, but they were not a million miles off in who they thought would shine for their country.

The full XI (4-4-2): Henderson; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Tomori, Chilwell; Sancho, Gallagher, Foden, Hudson-Odoi; Greenwood, Sterling.

Those who are involved with England have a huge game on the horizon. The Three Lions will take on Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday and look to earn themselves a spot in the history books. Perhaps then people can begin to speculate what the team will look like for Euro 2028.
