    There has been speculation over Lineker's future as host of BBC's Match of the Day for quite some time, despite several months left on the former Tottenham star's existing contract. Earlier this week, the Daily Mail claimed they have seen a leaked email that suggested BBC bosses were readying an official statement that would confirm Lineker's departure from hosting duties.

    Per the Daily Mirror, the 63-year-old ex-England international arrived at the BBC headquarters through the side door ahead of hosting the show for this Saturday's Premier League matches. However, a source close to Lineker said, "He'll decide when he leaves."

    During Saturday's broadcast, Lineker came up with a characteristic quip to dispel rumours of his exit.
