  • Gallas slams Chelsea's transfer strategy
  • Claimed Maresca won't be able to manage Sancho
  • Criticised Blues for signing too many goalkeepers
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The ex-France international warned Chelsea against reviving their interest in Manchester United's Sancho as he feels that new Blues boss Maresca would not be able to handle his personality. Earlier in the summer, Sancho was briefly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, however, the west London side quickly rejected the idea.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gallas went on to criticise Chelsea over their transfer strategy as he questioned their decision to sign goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal while having experienced custodians like Robert Sanchez and Kepa Arrizabalaga in their roster.

  • WHAT WILLIAM GALLAS SAID

Speaking to Lord Ping, the 46-year-old said: "Arsenal would steer clear of Jadon Sancho because although he has a lot of quality, he isn’t consistent enough and that’s a problem. It’s the same issue at Chelsea but I don’t know if Enzo Maresca would be able to manage a player like that."

He added: "I’m speechless. What can I say about Chelsea signing another goalkeeper, why are they doing it? What for? Why do they think they need another goalkeeper? It’s ridiculous, they have spent so much money and are still spending more. It’s sending a message to their current goalkeepers that they aren’t good enough. Chelsea should be looking at experienced defenders and a striker, that’s what they need to focus on."
