Folarin Balogun sends out message to Gregg Berhalter after USMNT coach is fired following dismal Copa America campaign

In the wake of a disappointing Copa America performance, the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) have decided to part ways with Berhlater as the federation seeks a swift and necessary change in leadership with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. However, it is evident that the manager commanded respect and appreciation during his stint from his squad members as Balogun took to social media to express his gratitude towards Berhalter after his dismissal.

In a brief but heartfelt message, Balogun wrote, "Thank you for everything, coach," acknowledging the positive impact Berhalter had during his tenure.

The USMNT's Copa America journey started on a high note with a victory over Bolivia. However, the team soon faced setbacks with a loss to Panama, followed by a crucial defeat against Uruguay in a must-win match. This unexpected series of results saw the team bow out in the group stages, a significant blow given their lofty ambitions for the tournament - which ultimately cost Berhalter his job.

Behalter's overall record stands at 44 wins, 13 draws, and 17 losses from 74 matches, making him the third most successful USMNT coach in terms of wins, trailing only Bruce Arena (81) and Jurgen Klinsmann (55).
