The role of head coach, which will be taken up by Slot next season, is to look after the club's on-field activities while focusing on coaching and preparing Liverpool’s first team. The Dutchman will work directly with sporting director, Richard Hughes, who will be in charge of recruitment and other parts of the football department. The duo will work under the guidance of Michael Edwards, the club's new Chief Executive of Football, who returned to the club last month. Klopp, on the other hand, fulfilled the duties of both Slot and Hughes as he also had a major say in the recruitment department and on other sporting activities of the club.
