Emi Martinez scolded by Lionel Scaloni for showboating as Argentina goalkeeper performs keep-ups after world champions establish 4-1 lead against arch-rivals Brazil

La Albiceleste thrashed arch-rivals Brazil 4-1 on Tuesday in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying match. Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister and Guiliano Simeone were on target as the world champions steamrolled over the Selecao, having already booked their spot in next summer's tournament thanks to Uruguay's draw with Bolivia earlier in the day.

Towards the end of the game, when Argentina were already 4-1 up, goalkeeper Martinez was spotted showboating inside the penalty as he performed keep-ups. Despite his team virtually sealing a thumping win, the gesture did not sit well with head coach Scaloni. The World Cup-winning manager was visibly angry as he shook his finger to show his disapproval and directed Martinez to continue with the game.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who did not feature in the match due to a muscle injury, enjoyed his nation's victory on television and showed his appreciation for his colleagues on social media.

La Albiceleste will be back in action in June when they are scheduled to face Chile and Colombia in two more World Cup qualifying matches.
