Hojlund was provided with the perfect opportunity to open the scoring for the Red Devils against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, as he found himself one-on-one vs Alisson late in the first half, but fired his shot straight at a charging goalkeeper. Hojlund joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for a fee of £64 million ($79.5m) plus a potential £8 million ($9.9m) in add-ons. However, his performances have not lived up to the price tag over the last season and a half. The Dane has only scored 23 goals in 65 appearances but has shown some glimpses of improvement under Amorim, which is why Hojlund is likely to remain as United's first-choice number nine in the second half of the season.

Hojlund is likely to be back leading the line for United when they take on Arsenal at Emirates Stadium in a blockbuster FA Cup third round clash next Sunday.
