  • WHAT GUARDIOLA SAID

Explaining his decision to exclude Ederson from the matchday squad, City boss Guardiola told reporters that the Brazilian was suffering from "stomach problems" which ruled him out of action from the Wolves clash.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

Fans did not believe in Guardiola's explanation as they accused the Spanish coach of lying about Ederson's condition.

Queku Mainoo wrote on X: "Pep says Ederson has “stomach problems. Lmao."

An X handle named zayne wrote: "pep chatting. Ederson has a poorly tummy. He’s not there because he’s leaving the club. At least make it believable."

Another handle named Zach posted: "Pep’s just said Ederson has stomach problems and vomiting. Savinho deffo joining ngl."

FPL Jamie called out Guardiola's "Bulls**t", as the post read: "Pep said Ederson has stomach problems. Everyone calls bulls**t."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ederson has been linked with a move to Turkish Galatasaray, who have reportedly submitted a formal offer worth €10 million to the Cityzens. The English giants, on the other hand, have made it clear they won’t green-light the move unless an improved bid is submitted. Paris Saint-Germain's Gianluigi Donnarumma could replace the Brazilian stopper.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CITY

Amid all the drama related to Ederson's transfer, Guardiola's men will aim to start the new season on a winning note, after a forgetful campaign last season, where they finished third in the league and ended up being trophyless.
