'Love you' - David Beckham sends heartfelt birthday message to former Real Madrid team-mate & Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario

Beckham and Ronaldo became good friends when they played together at Madrid between 2003-07. More than 20 years after they became team-mates at Los Blancos, it is clear Beckham still holds the Brazilian in high regards - going by his heart-warming message to the great striker.

In an Instagram story, he posted a photo of the two together back in their Madrid playing days and wrote: "Happy birthday. Love you my friend."

Beckham and Ronaldo were two greats of the game, especially the latter. While both didn't enjoy that much success together at Madrid, they certainly developed a warm friendship - and both had glittering careers.

While former LA Galaxy star Beckham will continue his work as Inter Miami co-owner, on top of his other business enterprises, ex-Barcelona forward Ronaldo is more out of the limelight.
