'He didn't understand a single word!' - Cole Palmer opens up on hilarious exchange with Chelsea-bound Estevao after Palmeiras Club World Cup clash as language barrier proves problematic

Estevao scored a brilliant equaliser for the Brazilian side in the last-eight clash, with his side going on to lose 2-1. Palmer was suitably impressed by his soon-to-be team-mate, seeking him out after the game, though he is not sure much of what he said was understood.

On the chat, Palmer said: "I just said we are excited for you to join, but he didn’t understand a single word I said!"

Estevao has made an extraordinary start to his career, already scoring 27 goals and assisting 15 in 83 appearances for Palmeiras, aged 18. He also has five caps for the Brazil senior team.

Estevao will now join up with Chelsea ahead of the 2025-26 season, when he is expected to play a part in Enzo Maresca's first-team squad.
