  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea have been linked with a number of departures this winter with Nkunku, Joao Felix, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the window shuts. Nkunku had been linked with the Blues' Premier League rivals Manchester United and the deal was expected to go through, however, the Frenchman has now decided to stay put at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season.

    THE EXPLANATION

According to The Athletic, no team had been interested in paying Chelsea's asking price of £65 million ($80.2m) for Nkunku. Manchester United did approach Chelsea about a potential loan but the Blues, and indeed Nkunku, were only interested in a permanent transfer. As such, United ended their interest as they continue to struggle for wiggle room financially after failing to sell Marcus Rashford, who went out on loan to Aston Villa. The situation means the Frenchman will now stay at Stamford Bridge.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Elsewhere, AC Milan have now submitted an official bid for Felix on a six-month loan deal which is likely to be accepted by Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano. Additionally, The Telegraph's Matt Law has also reported that Enzo Maresca is set to leave the Portuguese forward out of the squad for their clash against West Ham later on Monday ahead of a potential deadline-day exit.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?

The Blues take on West Ham on Monday night, however, Chelsea fans will likely have their eyes trained on the side's social media accounts as they wait to see what the future holds for Felix.
