The United States will be hosting that competition, which is set to see Lionel Messi and Argentina attempt to defend their continental crown. Gregg Berhalter’s side are in confident mood heading into a major tournament on home soil, but want to ensure that they are fully prepared for the challenges to come.

It has been revealed that they will be facing Colombia on June 8, with that fixture taking place at FedEx Field – which sees the USMNT return to the Washington D.C. area for the first time since 2019. According to the Washington Post, they will then face Brazil four days later – with a venue for that contest yet to be revealed.

Berhalter is looking forward to seeing how his side fare against some of the best international teams in the business, saying: “It doesn’t matter what colour the jerseys are on the other side of the field. We should expect to win the game. It’s really easy for us to just talk about that, right? And it’s something we need to build because it’s not there yet. When we play against Argentina or Brazil, I want the guys to be confident in themselves, confident we can win the game.”

The USMNT will kick off their Copa America campaign against Bolivia in Texas on June 23. They will also face Panama and Uruguay in Group C, with the plan being to put on a good show before filling a role of co-hosts at the 2026 World Cup alongside neighbours Mexico and Canada.
