According to AS,Chelsea have been keeping close tabs on the winger and as they view him as a potential successor to Sancho, should a transfer materialise in the coming months.
Despite the growing speculation surrounding Rodríguez’s future, Real Betis are understood to be calm about the situation. The club moved swiftly to secure the youngster’s services with a fresh contract that includes a €35 million (£30m/$40m) release clause. Interestingly, the contract also contains a secondary clause, which permits Betis to raise that buyout figure if serious interest arrives, giving them added leverage in any future negotiations.
