    WHAT HAPPENED?

According to the The Telegraph, Chelsea will increase their season ticket prices for the upcoming season by 5%. Fans had feared a bigger jump in prices for general admission tickets keeping in line with the price increases undertaken by other London clubs including Tottenham Hotspur. This small increase will still keep the Blues' ticket price below the likes of Arsenal and Spurs.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

This season, owner Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have faced criticism from fans over a range of matters, however, this decision may help rebuild trust. The ownership of the club had frozen price tickets for the last two years since their takeover in order to acknowledge fans for their support during a turbulent spell.

Chelsea have increased their general admission season ticket prices for the first time in 13 years. This season, the cheapest adult general admission season ticket offered by Chelsea was £750; after the five per cent increase, that price will increase to £787.50.
