Baby Red on the way! Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister expecting first child with girlfriend Ailen Cova

The couple confirmed the news in a video that showed them finding out about the pregnancy, undergoing a baby scan and telling loved ones.

"We wish you well and love you with all our hearts," Cova wrote in the Instagram post. "See you soon".

Argentina international Mac Allister expressed his joy, commenting: "I love you with all my heart."

The pair made the announcement while Mac Allister is on international duty with Argentina as they prepare for World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Brazil. The midfielder joined up with his team-mates in the wake of Liverpool's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

The 26-year-old will focus his attention on Argentina's games before he returns to prepare for the baby's arrival with Cova.
