Atletico Madrid want Liverpool to let Andy Robertson leave for FREE as Spanish giants eye cost-effective transfer for Scottish left-back

England international Alexander-Arnold has completed his move to Real Madrid, with the Blancos paying €10 million (£9m/$12m) in order to get him on board for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Full-backs on the right and left could be leaving Anfield this summer.

That is because Robertson is also seeing a summer exit speculated on. The 31-year-old Scotland international still has 12 months left to run on his contract with Premier League champions Liverpool.

The Reds are, however, looking to upgrade in his position - with Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez emerging as a top target for Arne Slot. Robertson will be allowed to move on if he expresses a desire to embrace a new challenge.

La Liga giants Atletico are eager to bring him onto their books, but are reluctant to part with a fee. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has told his YouTube channel: "Atletico Madrid are looking for a left-back. The dream target, the top target, for the left-back position is Andy Robertson at Liverpool.

"From what I understand, Robertson already opened his doors to the possibility. Andy Robertson will be keen to move to Atletico Madrid, try to move to Spain.

"But, an important point to mention is that Atletico Madrid hope to get a deal done for free - with the player leaving Liverpool on good terms with a green light from the club or with a small fee. This is the hope of Atletico Madrid, that Liverpool will give an answer to that."

Robertson joined Liverpool in 2017 and has taken in 342 appearances for the Merseyside giants, helping them to Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles.
