    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite the Blues' terrific run of form, Arsenal forward Alessia Russo is not giving up hopes to win the WSL title this season. She claimed that the Gunners are trying their best to give the league leaders a run for money and are hoping to win trophies by the end of the season. The North London side have reached the quarter-final of the Champions League by topping their group and have also progressed to the last-eight stage of the Women's FA Cup.

  • WHAT ALESSIA RUSSO SAID

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Lionesses star said: "I mean it's tough, obviously. We are realistic and we understand that there is a big gap at the top now. But we still pushing. We have a massive end to the season. We are still in the Champions League, we are still in the FA Cup and we are still pushing for the league.

"I think every game matters, from now through to the end of the season. Absolutely, as a club we want to win trophies, as a player I want to win trophies. So we know what we have got left in this season. We're going to be doing everything we can to it."
