Arsenal player ratings vs Liverpool: Aaron Ramsdale comes to the rescue as Gunners surrender two-goal lead in chaotic match

It took some divine intervention from Aaron Ramsdale to prevent Arsenal from falling to a costly defeat against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Gunners passed up a great chance to restore their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League by letting slip a two-goal lead.

It looked like they were set for an easy win when Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring before Gabriel Jesus rose to head past Alisson, putting them 2-0 up within the first 30 minutes of the Easter Sunday clash.

The home team pulled one back through Mohamed Salah, who then failed to equalise by sending his penalty kick wide of the post in the second half. Roberto Firmino came to the Reds' rescue, however, nodding in their second goal.

Indeed, Arsenal would have been beaten in the end had it not been for the wonderful saves from Ramsdale, who ensured the Gunners remain six points clear at the top of the table.
