Big Arsenal injury blow! Gabriel Jesus struggling with knee problem ahead of crunch Liverpool FA Cup clash

The Daily Mail claims the Brazilian international has picked up a knee problem but the severity of the issue is currently unclear. The report adds there is 'hope' this will not be a long-term problem for the 26-year-old forward but he is a 'doubt' for their clash with Jurgen Klopp's league leaders at the Emirates.

Arsenal have lost their last two games to spurn a chance to top the Premier League, with the north London outfit currently fourth in the division. While Jesus has scored just four goals in the league this season, not having him in the team is a blow for Mikel Arteta's side. If the former Manchester City man, who has scored seven goals and three assists in all competitions this term, is out for a lengthy time, the Gunners may have to turn to the January transfer window for a new striker.

Jesus has a history of knee issues. He missed the opening weeks of this season due to that very problem and the Brazilian was absent for three months of the 2022/23 campaign with a knee injury after undergoing surgery on the joint.

After Sunday's clash against Liverpool in the FA Cup, Arsenal return to Premier League action on January 20 at home to Crystal Palace. They are scheduled to play Nottingham Forest away 10 days later but if they beat the Merseysiders, they are likely to be in FA Cup fourth round action before then.
