United have accepted that they will not be able to recover even half of the £85 million ($99m) figure they spent to sign Antony from Ajax in 2022, so they believe a loan deal will be the easiest way to get him off their books and have signalled they are willing to listen to offers in the next transfer window.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
United and the 24-year-old would prefer to see him join a European club, with Newcastle and Crystal Palace said to be interested. A return to former side Ajax has also been touted as a possibility, but the Dutch side are reportedly concerned about his "mindset". The ex-Sao Paulo star made 82 appearances and scored 24 goals in his two-year spell in Amsterdam.
Antony will be hoping to be given a chance to shine when United meet Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday as Ten Hag searches for his first win in the competition this term.
