'I forgot' - Amad Diallo makes honest red card admission after being sent off after scoring dramatic late winner for Man Utd against Liverpool

The Red Devils came back twice against Liverpool during their FA Cup quarter-final clash and finally scored in extra time thanks to Amad's cool and calm finish past Caoimhin Kelleher. Amad subsequently removed his shirt to celebrate and was handed his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the day.

The Ivorian revealed that he had forgotten that he had already been booked. He told ITV: "I forgot the first yellow. I'm very disappointed for that, a red card, but the most important for me is to win and against a big team like Liverpool is a big, big moment for me.

"Everyone came to me and said congratulations. I want to thank everyone, the fans were superb all game."

The goal is undoubtedly the highlight of what's been a frustrating season for Amad. Yet the winner could help kickstart his United career, with Erik ten Hag admitting after the match he deserves more game time.

The winger will hope to impress Ten Hag further in training as the club won't be back in action till March 30 after the international break.
