Amad Diallo gets his chance! Man Utd offer forgotten winger window of opportunity before making January transfer decision

The 21-year-old winger was hoping to enjoy a breakthrough campaign at Old Trafford in 2023-24 after returning from a productive loan spell at Championship side Sunderland. He was, however, to suffer a serious knee injury in pre-season that has kept him stuck on the sidelines.

There have been suggestions that another loan move could be sanctioned in the New Year, but Football Insider claims that Amad will be offered a window of opportunity in Manchester before then. With the likes of Antony and Marcus Rashford struggling for form, while Jadon Sancho is frozen out, there is a place for added creativity in Ten Hag’s attacking unit.

Amad has made a welcome return to training with United and has posted on social media of working his way back towards full match fitness: “Step by step to better get back in shape.” The Ivory Coast international will not be rushed into competitive action, but he could figure for the Red Devils before the end of the year.

Having spent five months working his way back from injury, Amad is understandably eager to get going again. If United determine that he is not yet ready to play a regular role for them, then another short-term deal will be put in place at the start of 2024.
