Martinelli, who saw his shot-saved by Bernd Leno in the first half before Bukayo Saka tapped home the opener, was substituted in the 68th minute by Mikel Arteta.

After returning to the Arsenal bench, his teammate Smith-Rowe offered him a handshake to applaud his performance, but was ignored by the Brazilian as he sat down.

One fan viewed the clip and said “Didn't notice this, maybe clears a few things up."

While another added: “I genuinely think Smith Rowe is leaving in Jan, which will be a massive loss, we're so much better with him in the team.”

Smith-Rowe, who returned from a knee injury in December, has started just one Premier League game across the current season and was an unused substitute during the 2-1 loss to Fulham.

Frustration could be growing with the England U21 international, who is currently behind Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and even Reiss Nelson in the Arsenal pecking order.

The 23-year-old might be handed an opportunity by Arteta in the coming days, as Arsenal prepare to face Liverpool in the FA Cup next Saturday.
