Messi signs a new deal… with Adidas

The attacker has yet to sign a deal with his club, but has apparently found few such problems brokering terms with the popular brand

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has reaffirmed his commitment to sportswear manufacturer Adidas, the player has confirmed via Facebook.

It is not the contract that the Camp Nou side would have wanted him to sign, given that he is still locked in negotiations of a new deal with Luis Enrique’s side, with whom his contract expires in June 2018.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said that he is “happy to continue working with adidas for many more years!”

Messi, 29, has played his whole professional career with the Camp Nou outfit, attaining legendary status along the way.

This season he has managed 31 goals in 31 games for the Spanish champions, weighing in with a further 12 assists.

In total, he has scored 487 goals in 564 outings for the Catalan side.
