Rowett not interested in Sunderland job
Former Stoke, Derby and Birmingham manager Gary Rowett is not interested in the vacant Sunderland job, according to Sky Sports News.
Rowett is understood to not be interested in managing in League One, while Championship side Millwall also hold an interest in the 45-year-old.
Former Millwall and Everton player Tim Cahill is also under consideration for the vacant Millwall job.
Canos signs Brentford extension
Brentford winger Sergi Canos has signed a new contract with the Championship club until 2023.
The 22-year-old has scored 23 goals in 149 appearances for the Bees, who rejected a £6.5m offer from Russian side Krasnodar for Canos this summer.
Cresswell signs two-year extension with West Ham
West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell has signed a contract extension through 2023, the club has announced.
The 29-year-old's previous deal was set to expire in 2021 and he has now tacked on an additional two seasons.
“I’ve been here for six years and I’ve loved every minute of it,” Cresswell told West Ham's official website. “I want to continue that and, thankfully, to extend the stay is fantastic news for me and my family. I’m looking forward to the next few years ahead."
Almeyda to stay with San Jose
San Jose Earthquakes manager Matias Almeyda has said he will stay with the club for the 2020 season.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Almeyda said he turned down multiple offers from Liga MX clubs as well as one national team in South America.
"Changing clubs does not even cross my mind," Almeyda said following the end of his first season in charge of the Quakes.
