Ruben Amorim takes wife to Cheshire restaurant adored by Cristiano Ronaldo & Sir Alex Ferguson for 40th birthday after forbidding Man Utd day off

The Portuguese was pictured by the Daily Mail going into Cibo Restaurant in Wilmslow with his wife on Monday; an establishment previously frequented by United legend Sir Alex Ferguson and ex-forward Cristiano Ronaldo went to the Hale branch as well.

Amorim has had a topsy-turvy start at United since replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in November. The ex-Sporting CP boss quipped he feels like he is 50 and not 40 after a couple of months in charge at the Red Devils and if their results don't improve a great deal, he could be under pressure to keep his job.

Amorim has lost seven of his opening 17 games in charge at 12th-placed United, with the English giants securing their worst start at home in the league in 131 years. The Portuguese certainly has his work cut out, and he revealed he did not allow many of his players a day off on Monday despite his birthday and victory the day prior at Fulham.

Amorim will hope for a late birthday present when his United side take on FCSB in their final Europa League group phase game on Thursday.
