Pedri injury latest: Barcelona provide huge fitness update on eve of new La Liga season after midfielder's Euro 2024 setback

Pedri displayed great form at Euro 2024, however, his journey in the competition got cut short as he suffered an unfortunate injury following a reckless challenge by Toni Kroos during Spain's quarter-final clash against Germany.

It was initially believed that the young midfielder could remain out of action for at least six to eight months. He was not named in Barcelona's travelling squad for the United States pre-season tour, however, he returned to training on the pitch at Barcelona's training centre earlier this month while the squad was away.

Now, ahead of the Catalan giants' season opener, the club issued a positive update on the player's condition as their statement read on X, "Pedri has received the medical green light and will be available for #ValenciaBarça."

Hansi Flick's side will play their first competitive match of the 2024-25 season on Saturday night against Valencia away from home.
