    WHAT HAPPENED?

New York Red Bulls’ starlet Julian Hall has been making waves well before he made his debut for the club and things haven’t slowed down since then either. The now 16-year-old has been regularly getting looks with Sandro Schwarz’s side, making 11 appearances in the 2024 MLS season. Not only that, the young forward even became the second youngest goalscorer in MLS history when he netted off the bench against CF Montreal in June 2024.

Now Hall is making waves for another reason, his skills with the camera after the youngster took over as cameraman for the day for the club. The 16-year-old’s photos were released in a video on social media and it had fans praising the American’s abilities behind the lens, with many wondering what other skills he has hidden.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Hall signed for the club in 2020 when he joined the New York Red Bulls Academy and since then he has only grown from strength to strength. So much so, that the American led New York’s U15 side to the MLS Next Cup title and won the MVP award in the process, netting six goals. That has allowed him to get regular looks in the New York Red Bulls’ first team, with Hall making 11 appearances last season.

While they were all off the bench, that didn’t stop the forward from scoring twice, and became the second youngest goalscorer in the MLS, behind only Freddy Adu. It has fans excited for the youngster’s future especially after he rejected several clubs from Europe to stay with the New York Red Bulls.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE NEW YORK RED BULLS?

Despite finishing seventh in the Eastern Conference, the New York Red Bulls put up several impressive performances and earned themselves a place in the MLS Cup final. However, it wasn’t to be as LA Galaxy walked away with the trophy on the back of a 2-1 victory in a closely fought game. Despite the loss, fans are hopeful for the future and the club has responded, bringing in three-time Bundesliga winner Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The former Bayern Munich and PSG star signed for the club on a free transfer and is joined by midfielder Felipe Carballo, left-back Raheem Edwards, and forward Wiktor Bogacz. The team kicks off their 2025 MLS season on Feb. 23 with an away game against FC Cincinnati.
