    WHAT HAPPENED?

Klopp’s plan was to take a break from the dugout, having run out of energy, but was sounded out by the United States following their decision to part company with Gregg Berhalter. Said approach has been politely rebuffed, with the 57-year-old instead strengthening his ties to Liverpool.

Klopp has agreed to become an honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation – the club’s official charity – and has said of continuing to work for a cause that he supported wholeheartedly across his time in England: “The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. I am really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands.”
