Harry Kane & wife Katie Goodland encourage their kids to take up new hobby in Germany as Bayern Munich striker expects to lose language race with his family

The England captain completed a €100 million (£85m/$109m) transfer to the Allianz Arena during the summer of 2023. After bidding farewell to the Premier League at Tottenham, Kane was briefly separated from his wife and kids as he took up residence in a plush Munich hotel.

He has now been joined by partner Katie and their four children, with the youngest members of the Kane clan being encouraged to take up new hobbies that do not involve a ball being kicked around. Kane has told The Guardian: “They’re in school now and have been skiing the last couple of weekends. Just having that has been great for them. We’ve met a few of the parents at school and made friends with team-mates’ wives and kids. Slowly but surely it starts to feel like home. People ask what are the big differences, but a lot of the routine is pretty much the same. You miss friends you have at home or a golf course, but you soon learn about those things here and it becomes part of your home.”

Kane added when asked if he has hit the slopes yet and whether he is starting to break down the language barrier in Germany: “I haven’t been yet but I do want to go and watch them. They’re loving it. They’ll be speaking the language before me too.”

Kane has settled quickly on the field at Bayern, registering 27 goals through 26 appearances, and is hoping to see his decision to step out of a professional and personal comfort zone justified by landing elusive major silverware in 2024.
