Harry Kane makes more Bundesliga history as he steals record from Erling Haaland to cushion blow of another dismal Bayern Munich defeat

After missing a glorious opportunity to put his team 2-0 up in the first half, Kane's side found themselves trailing 3-1 against their hosts. The England international managed to pull one back with his first goal in three matches when Mathys Tel poked the ball to him and he applied a simple finish from close range in the 87th minute to make it 3-2.

The goal is Kane's 25th in the Bundesliga in just his 22nd appearance in the German top-flight. That is the fewest games a player has ever needed to reach a quarter of a century of goals in the league. He beat the previous best mark of 25 games set by Erling Haaland when he was at Borussia Dortmund.

The encounter between Bochum and Bayern was interrupted twice due to protests against potential foreign investment in the league. Tennis balls rained down on the field from the stands in each half, resulting in the players being taken off the field for a period of time. The protests have been occurring in matches across the country in recent weeks.

Bayern have now lost three consecutive matches, having been beaten by league leaders Bayer Leverkusen last week and then going down 1-0 to Lazio in the Champions League. The weekend's results means Bayern are now eight points behind Xabi Alonso's team.
